Can't get GMAIL SMTP settings to work

Trying to use HESK version 2.3 with Gmail SMTP server with no luck?
 

» Steps to get Gmail SMTP working in HESK 2.3:

  1. Download smtp.zip attached to this article

  2. Upload smtp.php to your help desk inside folder "inc/mail/"

  3. Login to your HESK Admin panel

  4. Go to Settings > Misc > Email sending

  5. Set "Send emails using" to SMTP Server

  6. Set these SMTP settings:

    SMTP Host: smtp.gmail.com
    SMTP Port: 465
    SMTP Timeout: 20
    SMTP Username: *your username*
    SMTP Password: *your password*

  7. Click "Save changes" and test your help desk
